In only a few days time I will be at Style XL, and I am so excited!
If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a plus size fashion event being held in Birmingham. It sounds like it’s going to be incredible, with so many wonderful brands and people.
There are a few brands I will be heading straight to, top of my list are Scarlett & Jo, Nicky Rockets, Lady Voluptuous and Chubby Cartwheels.
Scarlett & Jo are one of the brands I really want to buy from but have been waiting to try on their beautiful dresses, and of course my local Evans doesn’t stock them! So I’m hoping to make my first S&J purchase at Style XL (if not my second and third too!)
Of course I have to go see Nicky Rockets, I’m wearing a Curverella t-shirt as I type, the designs are just perfect and I’m hoping to expand my collection further. If Curvy Convention is anything to go by I best be quick before they sell out!
I’ve got a couple of Lady V dresses which I adore, so been really excited by Lady Voluptuous. I haven’t been able to decide on which dress I love most though, so it’ll be good to see them in the flesh, and maybe it’ll cure my indecision. Though possibly not.
I’ve lusted after Chubby Cartwheels clothes for a while, so I’m hugely excited to see them at Style XL.
Of course this is only a very small selection of who will be there, have a look for yourself! I’ve been told there are still day tickets, but they are going fast, so be quick!
In addition there’s going to be a raffle with prizes from some wonderful companies, including Polly Grace, Crabtree & Evelyn and MurderOfGoths. Oh yes, you read that right. One lucky winner will get a custom portrait drawn by me! Now if that doesn’t make you want to enter I don’t know what will. Plus you’d be giving money to a great cause, Mind are an excellent charity.
I’m looking forward to catching up with all the wonderful bloggers too, whether it’s seeing them for the first time or catching up.
I thought I’d take a quick opportunity to introduce you to my husband too, as he will be along on the day.
We first met through his incredible photography, and I’m not just saying that because I’m biased.
He’s always said he’d love to do more plus size fashion photography, so do talk to him about it.
I look forward to seeing all of you there!
